This project was originally intended to serve as a proof of concept for a unified, updatable set of keys for insects over a large geographical range. Keys to the genera of sawflies and woodwasps of the eastern United States are given, and species keys are given for particularly-small taxa. Small profiles of taxon diversity, biology, and identification are also given. A checklist of genera is provided at the end.
The project is still in its early stages; version 1.0 lacks numerous components, but otherwise comprises a complete set of keys to all established symphytan genera at the time of publication. Planned future updates are included in the article.
